Allée Arbor
Created to form an unique outdoor environment to host ceremonies and provide a dramatic experience within the natural rolling landscape of the arboretum.
Entry to the arbor is a 450 foot long processional allee utilizing 110 flowering Kousa Dogwood trees terminating at the ceremonial space. The arbor is created using multiple layers of western red cedar elevated above the ground supported by curved “branch like” wood brackets and two multi-faceted columns intricately woven into the upper structure and resting on an oval bluestone platform.
Honors: The Allée Arbor of Cox Arboretum and Gardens won a 2016 Architectural Design Award.
