Children’s Discovery Garden at Wegerzyn Gardens
Designed to create a storybook style building to capture the imagination of children of all ages. The supported the garden’s mission of teaching children about the environment, local eco-systems and land stewardship.
Constructed a small utility building to house a restroom, pumps for the water features and garden tools as an integral part of a new children’s garden located in a public park. Utilized a living roof to provide an educational example of an environmentally friendly roof system. Showcased the area’s agricultural roots by constructing the building with straw bale technology.
Honors: The Wegerzyn Children’s Garden Center won a 2006 Architectural Design Award.
