Dayton Masonic Center – Restoration
The Dayton Masonic Temple restoration opened the private facility to the Masonic Center, a public destination for the community.
The Dayton Masonic Center is located in the Grafton Hill historic district on the bank of the Great Miami River with a commanding view of downtown Dayton. The iconic 300,000 square foot building, constructed in 1926, houses a 1,700 seat auditorium, 600 seat banquet hall, Masonic Lodges and offices.
This renovation included an upgrade of all mechanical systems adding air conditioning without compromising the interior detail, the addition of a four-story elevator, accessible entry and women’s restrooms.
The building with the renovations maintains it’s original integrity, including over 600 limestone pieces cut from the same Indiana quarry, only 100 years later. Many of the interior details were repurposed including marble partitions were re-cut for flooring.
This successful multimillion dollar six year restoration project was privately funded. A design and construction management project connecting our network of craftsman who contributed their expertise and passion for excellence to restore one of Dayton’s most treasured historic structures.
